I won't go into all the details of our friendship, but I will say this - I've been blessed over the years to have a couple hand fulls of very dear friends, all of us a little bit crazy, I guess, and the interesting thing was...we were/are such birds of a feather that anyone Dave considered a friend was someone I knew I could like and trust implicitly, and he felt the same way about people I brought into his life... this is the essence and beauty of friendship...
I'm not knocking relatives and blood - a few of my cousins are among the people I hold dearest ... but there's something about friendship... when it's right, there's nothing to beat it, and if Dave Seibel would have you as a close friend, well that was something!
Once, when I was in transition, he insisted that I live in his basement "till you get things sorted out" with my Newfoundland dog, even though dog hair made Dave's allergies flare up... but he insisted, and I took him up on it... combed my dog out every day, trying to keep the dander down... but I saw the rashes on Dave's arms, especially around the elbows, but Dave would say: "Doesn't matter, don't worry about it..." then crack open another beer and put on some tunes by Lou Reed...
